Image Gallery: Onley Deserted Medieval Village

A selection of recent ground-level photographs of the land in and around the site of the settlement at Onley.

The filename of each image gives a brief indication of the date and subject matter. These images were all taken by G.W. Hatton. Some of the composite images are quite large (about 2Mb), so allow plenty of time for the download.

The first row contains composite strip photographs taken from the west side of the stream that bisects the village (note also the prominent feature of Barby hill in the background, with its commanding views over the entire area). The second row shows details of some of the house-platforms on the east side of the stream. The third and fourth rows include some views of the large fish-ponds to the north of the village.
